Gold Canyon Arizona is an unincorporated community that sits at the foot of Superstition Mountain – it is just to the East of Apache Junction. Located about 45 minutes east of the Phoenix Airport and only about 20 minutes from the Williams Gateway Airport, Gold Canyon is a community that offers a more laid back life-style, yet is very close to shopping, medical, plenty of golf and all the other amenities of the “big” city.
It is an area well known for its magnificent vistas and Sonoran desert landscapes.
The Gold Canyon community had its start in the Gold Canyon Ranch, a working cattle ranch at the foot of the southeastern region of the Superstition Mountains. In the early 20th century it was a favorite destination of Teddy Roosevelt who called it the Superstition Mountains.
