Gold Canyon is an unincorporated area in Pinal County (near Apache Junction) in eastern-most part of the Phoenix Valley. Gold Canyon sits at the base of the of the stunning Superstition Mountain range and is well known for its magnificent vistas and Sonoran desert landscapes.
The Gold Canyon community had its start in the Gold Canyon Ranch, a working cattle ranch at the foot of the southeastern region of the Superstition Mountains. In the early 20th century it was a favorite destination of Teddy Roosevelt who called the Superstition Mountains
