Update 9/21/09 — See blog post on GoldCanyon.net’s Blog about the sip code changes creating havoc for some East Phoenix Arizona Valley residents.

Beginning July 1, 2009, several zip codes in Arizona will change. This is happening because there has been a growth of the number of companies doing business in the area and the increase in population numbers.

To make this change as easy as possible for everyone, the Postal Service will ensure delivery of mail with the old ZIP Code for a period of one year. But if you are planning to order new business cards, envelopes and letterhead, or any other marketing materials remember to change the zip code beginning in July of this year.

Basically the change is for zip codes that include a “2″ — the “2″  is now becoming a “1″.

Local Changes:
85219 to 85119
85222 to 85122
85228 to 85128
85231 to 85131
85232 to 85132
85237 to 85137
85238 to 85138
85239 to 85139
85240 to 85140
85242 to 85142
85243 to 85143
85245 to 85145
85272 to 85172
85273 to 85173
85290 to 85190
85292 to 85192
85293 to 85193
85294 to 85194

You can visit the United States Postal Service website at www.usps.com to locate the correct zip+4 code for any address — when on the website, choose “Find a ZIP Code”.
