The Greater San Tan Arizona area, which is the single largest unincorporated community in Pinal County, is considering adopting a single name, Bella Vista, Arizona. If changed, this name would represent the various home owner associations (HOAs) and communities that make up what is currently known simply as the Greater San Tan Arizona area.

Individuals and businesses in the Greater San Tan Area have formed a coalition of concerned residents and businesses working together to achieve the goal of unifying the various communities in the area and helping residents become a cohesive community, reportedly independent of any incorporation efforts.

The name of Bella Vista, Arizona has been chosen as one of the more popular choices, according to recent media reports. Many other names have been reviewed, including plant names and names that include some variation of a community already in existence.  Bella Vista seems to have come up as they talked about the location of the geographic center of the community. The middle is on Gantzel Road between Combs and Bella Vista. That led to the suggestion of Bella Vista. And now, according to media reports, Bella Vista is being accepted by most who have been polled.

The implementation of new Zip Codes in the area had accelerated the name issue. The changes in Zip Codes scheduled for July 1, 2009 gives the community the opportunity to get a new name and Zip Codes of 85140 and 85142 changed at the same time.
